Before and After School Care
Ruffing offers before-and after-school care that meets the needs of busy parents, while providing a safe environment for children aged five and up. Before-school care begins at 7:45 a.m. and lasts until classrooms open at 8:15 a.m. After-school care is available from 3:15 dismissal until 6:00 p.m. A snack is followed by activities such as indoor games, crafts, baking, sewing, extra gymnasium and playground time, and optional homework time for older children. This can be combined with the after-school enrichment classes, such as fencing, chess and photography that are available for all elementary and middle school students.

Siesta Care
The Siesta program is intended for families of three and four year old children who are in Children’s Houses classes in the morning and need to stay for the afternoon until the end of the school day at 3:15. The adult caregiver responsible for the program will be with the approximately ten children during the entire period. Both the environment and the approach to the child will be compatible with their morning Montessori experience. Students enjoy a parent-provided lunch and will nap. Siesta is available on a four or five-day per week basis.
