ENRICHMENT AT RUFFING MONTESSORI SCHOOL

More than just academics, the Ruffing school experience has a richly diverse after-school array of classes, as well as camp options during winter break, spring break and summer break.

AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES:
AHA! (After Hours Activities!) offers classes taught by professionals in various areas
of interest to children enrolled in our Extended Day through 8th grade. Classes are on-site and are from the end of the school day, from 3:15-4:45pm, and include such options as:

Academics

• Chess, Knowledge Masters, Mandarin and Lego Robotics

Arts

• Art Studio, Digital Photography, Kitchen Studio, and Sewing Crafts
• Musical Dance Theatre, Piano, and Playwriting

Athletics

• Archery, Fencing, Rock Wall, Tae Kwon Do and Yoga

WINTER, SPRING AND SUMMER CAMPS:
Our winter, spring and summer break camps are open to the greater community. We offer full day programs in an engaging, environmentally conscious, fun and supportive environment.

• Winter Break and Spring Break Camps

Two-week offerings with one-week options; open to Ruffing Extended Day and all students in grades 1-5. Seasonal arts, crafts and cooking classes compliment outdoor and indoor activities and games.

• Summer Ruffing It

For over thirty years, Summer Ruffing It has offered dynamic camp programs for children ages 3-14. For our youngest campers (ages 3-6), they are immersed in fun and engaging activities under the thoughtful guidance of one of our Montessori-trained faculty and experienced staff. For our elementary and middle school aged campers, campers choose from classes in the areas of Art, Athletics, Drama, Digital Media, Music, Science, as well as academic skills to create their own personal schedule.

In an atmosphere of care for self, others and the environment, our professional staff works with small student-centered groups. Beaumont Field and Shaker Lakes complement our on-site playground, comfortable classrooms, attractive commons areas, kitchens, gymnasium with a climbing wall, an art studio, and our theatre. Collaboration with the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes extends our green and LEED-certified campus for off -site exploration. Older students enroll for on and off-site adventures.
