In addition to Ruffing's After School Care program, AHA! Classes offer students the option of trying new activities four days a week from 3:15 to 4:30. Taught by professionals in the fields of study, students have a wide range of choices. Each semester brings new options while continuing the most popular ones. Review the upcoming classes and sign up! In the event of insufficient enrollment, a course offering may be cancelled.

Bookclub: We will choose books to read and then discuss them. We will also do fun projects with the books we choose and visit the library. D Kosmin Participants must be able to read. Thursday
Chess: Chess for Success will help you learn the basic rules and principles, tactical themes and check mate patterns. Supportive teaching, lessons and open chess play for all. C Marshall Grades 1-8 Tuesday
Climbing Wall/Gym Games: With our certified instructor, you learn to scale or improve scaling our challenging rock wall. Become the rock climber of your dreams. Play gym games between climbs. F Barnett Grades 4-6 Thursday
Kitchen Studio: Make and bake foods while learning about healthy ingredients. Take a treat home each week and use the recipes to create your own beautiful cookbook. Vegetarians and those with nut allergies are welcome. We do use wheat, egg and milk products in our recipes. C. Bodenger

Knowledge Master: Work together as a team as you prepare to participate in an international challenge with schools from across the country and around the world. This Academic Challenge builds self-confidence and expands and reinforces knowledge. We will field two teams this year:Â one for 4th and 5th Grade students and the other for 6th Grade. Open Art Studio: Come explore your favorite type of media. Whether in painting, drawing, print making, collage or sculpture, come and release the artist in you in our open art studio. There will be weekly projects to participate in if you need some ideas to get started. E. Anderson Grades 1-4 Wednesday
Photo Scrapbooking: Not sure what to do with your photos? Learn ways to create your own book and add in your photos. Remember the good times and savor them! Also, learn what makes a picture pleasing to the eye and how to set up for good photographs. V. Cannon Grades 1-3 Monday

Power of the Pen: Ohio's is an award-winning educational enhancement program devoted to excellence in creative writing, now in its 23rd year. With interscholastic tournament competitions for young writers throughout Ohio, it provides quality tools and resources to identify, challenge and reward excellence. K. Freer Grades 7-8 Monday
Tae Kwon Do: This is a class in the Olympic martial art that offers students an opportunity to improve strength, stamina, flexibility and concentration, while practicing blocking techniques and self-defense. Students have the potential to earn a belt TBA Grades 1-3 Monday
The Jason Project: Resilient Planet:: We will investigate the interaction of the earth's ecosystems; help efforts to preserve and restore our planet's ecology and discover some actions that we can take with our own community. We will join students Argonauts and world-renowned scientists via the internet, as they conduct exciting explorations with state-of-the-art equipment, and then apply what we have learned along the banks of the Doan Brook and the shores of Horseshoe Lake.
