In collaboration with community partners, Ruffing Design House paves the way as the hub for creative thought leaders. The spaces and curriculum of Ruffing Design House will propel our students forward in new and dynamic ways, combining tried-and-true Montessori methods with future-ready design thinking. Design thinking, by definition, is a human-centered, iterative process for creative problem-solving that emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and experimentation to develop innovative solutions.
Through Ruffing Design House, we expand the classroom of meaningful work with the tools of yesterday, today, and tomorrow in immersive spaces that allow learners of all ages to take risks, express ideas, and seek solutions through collaboration with others. Real-world ideas will be brought to life at Ruffing Design House through engagement with Experts in Residence, alumni, and community members. Through this larger social cultural context, students will learn new methods and models which will prepare them for their futures, and ultimately prepare them to make a difference in their communities for generations to come.
The children of today will make all the discoveries of tomorrow...they will improve what has been done to make fresh discoveries. They must make all the improvements in houses, cities, communications, methods of production, etc. that are to be made. The future generations must know not only how to do what we can teach them,
